Library Books Due June 9th

All school library books are due on Friday, June 9th.  Please encourage your child to search for any books that need to be returned.  School library books have a vertical bar code on the top right back cover, with the label “Fairfax County Public Schools”. Fairfax County Public Library Summer Reading Adventure

Students are encouraged to visit and borrow books from a Fairfax County Public Library (FCPL) this summer.  Librarians from the Kings Park Public Library will meet with all classes on Thursday, June 15th to share books talks and information about the FCPL’s summer reading challenge and free literacy events.  http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/library/srp/

Field Day Needs Volunteers

The Kings Glen Physical Education Department is still in need of volunteers to assist with Field Day activities on Friday, June 9 from 9:15 AM - 12:15 PM with slots also available for set up and clean up before and after the events. If you or a family member 18 or above is able to donate their time, it is much appreciated. We can’t do it without your help!

Pick Up Medications

The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school (Friday, June 23).  Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded.  It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian.  Medication cannot be sent home with your child.

Is your rising 7th grade student going to Lake Braddock Secondary School next year?  Is he/she interested in singing, acting, or dancing? Then come out and audition for LBSS middle school musical – Alice in Wonderland Jr.!  Materials will be made available through your student’s music teacher.  The show will run October 19th-21st, 2017 and auditions are June 13th-15th.  You can sign up for an audition slot through the SignUpGenius link below (via QR code).
