Olde Creek Spring Book Fair

The Olde Creek Book Fair will take place from Monday, April 24th until Friday, April 28th.

Look for a book fair flyer in your child’s backpack soon.  It provides information about the fair and details some of the books that will be available.  A wish list from your child may also be included with the flyer.  All families are invited to come to the book fair evening hours on Tuesday, 4/25 and Thursday, 4/27 from 4:30-7:00.  Cash, checks (made out to Olde Creek ES), and credit cards are accepted at the fair.  Taxes do not apply to book fair purchases.

The OC PTA is sponsoring a, “Read Up Day,” during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 1 through 5 - the week after the Book Fair).  Teachers will have Wish Lists hanging on the left wall just inside the book fair for you to select a book from.  Use these wish lists to help you to select a book that will be a valuable addition to your child’s classroom library.  Your child should bring the book to school on Read Up Day, Tuesday May 2nd.

Bike to School Day on May 10 and Bike Rodeo on April 28

Bike to school day is around the corner again! Join us on May 10th and walk or bike to school.  We will set up bike trains which are groups of parents and students that bike to school together, and pick up others along the way at predetermined “train stops” to ensure a safe ride for everyone.  Visit the SignUpGenius pages to sign up for the event, volunteer to help with the bike trains, to reserve a spot on the bike train, and to donate breakfast foods for the arrival party at school. We will have t-shirts for the first 100 students who sign up by April 28th (sizes based on availability).

RAMping Up Transition Program at Robinson

Robinson Middle School, in partnership with the Robinson Secondary School PTSA, is excited to offer RAMping Up, a transition program for rising 7th grade students.  The goal of the program is to acclimate students to their new learning environment and school community while fostering friendships.  Middle school teachers and counselors will lead program sessions focused on core curriculum expectations, technology integration, organization, goal setting, and team building.  Students will tour all areas of the building, learn about block scheduling, locker use, and after school activities. It will be a week of making connections with key adults in the building, hands on learning, and fun!

If interested, you may register for one of the two sessions that will be held between July 31 and August 11th, from 8:00am to 12:30pm.  Parents must provide transportation for this program and the fee is $80.

To Register:  Either open the attached informational flier to access the online registration form and payment instructions using PayPal or click here for direct access.  The registration form is also available in Spanish and may be accessed here.

Please note that a limited number of scholarships are available to those who need financial assistance, so please complete the registration process and the program director will be in contact with you.  If you have any questions regarding program registration, please email the PTSA at rampingup@robinsonptsa.org.  Additionally, the PTSA leadership team is looking for parent volunteers to assist with program planning, registration and general logistics.  If you would like to be part of this year’s parent volunteer team or to learn more, please contact PTSA President, Micelle Emery, at the above email address.

Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to meeting our newest Robinson Rams during the RAMping Up program in August!
