University Interns
This spring we will continue our
partnership with GMU and have 6 interns at Virginia Run. Throughout the internship, interns
and teachers co-plan and
co-teach. Gradually, the
intern assumes responsibility in the collaborative partnership
for
the teacher’s class both in terms of planning and
instruction. The teaching internship is widely regarded as the single
most important component of teacher education. Our interns and the classes they
are collaborating with are listed below. If you have any further questions
about the GMU interns please feel free to contact Jason Skerker.

Advanced Academic Program
If you have a student in grades 2-6 and are interested in
having your child screened for the AAP Center, you may initiate the full-time
AAP Level IV screening process by completing and submitting an Advanced Academic Programs Level IV Referral Form. This form
and any optional materials must be submitted to Mrs. Edwards or Mrs.
Sesso no later than January 13, 2017. Second grade students not in the pool and all
students in grades 3 - 7 are screened only by referral.
Please do not wait for test scores before submitting a
referral for your student in grades 2-7 as there will be no referrals for level
IV screening accepted past the January 13, 2017 deadline. If you have any questions, please contact our AAP Resource
Teacher, Mrs. Sesso, at vmsesso@fcps.edu.

Lost and Found
Please remind your child(ren) to look through the Lost &
Found in the cafeteria to see if they have any clothing items that have made their way over
