Tysons Partnership Donates 300 pairs of shoes to FCPS students!
On Friday, September 30, the Tysons Partnership held a luncheon event to celebrate its "Month of Giving" campaign. As part of the organization's month-long effort, area businesses associated with the Tysons Partnership collected approximately 300 pairs of brand new athletic shoes and socks—ranging in size from 9 toddler to 8 youth—for students in need at eight elementary schools in and around the Tysons area.
FCPS has nearly 54,000 students receiving free- or reduced-priced meals, so a donation of this size is most welcome.
Tysons Partnership is an association of business, civic, and government leaders working together to create a dynamic city that reflects the evolving needs of its diverse community.

New Focus for the Foundation:
Increasing STEM efforts throughout the curriculum, including Cyber education
In September, the Foundation adopted several new areas of focus for the coming school year.
Cyber IT: the Foundation has already supported Cyber Patriot clubs in several middle schools. Currently, we are seeking funding to expand cyber IT courses to every high school. More students will have the opportunity to be introduced to the concepts and perhaps pursue additional training in this lucrative and growing career field.
Elementary Engineering and Coding: FCPS is working to integrate engineering and coding elements throughout the curriculum in elementary school. The foundation is seeking funding to support teacher training and materials development to bring this technology to all students.
FCPS Honors: The Foundation also raises funds to support our largest event of the year, where we recognize our excellent staff members, and our business and community partners.
