Please Join Us June 28th at 10 to Celebrate the Completion of the Amtrak Staples Mill Parking Lot Expansion Project

The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT), the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), and Amtrak invite you Thursday, June 28th beginning at 10:00 A.M. to mark the official opening of expanded parking at the Amtrak Staples Mill Road station and celebrate transportation infrastructure progress across Virginia, the busiest Amtrak station in the southeast serving over 350,000 passenger rail customers annually.

The completed project doubles the lot’s previous capacity to 588 parking spaces, boasts a new entrance from Bremner Boulevard, increases multi-modal access to local public transportation, and delivers an overall improved passenger experience just in time for the busy 4th of July and Summer Holiday travel seasons.

Please join DRPT Director Jennifer Mitchell, VDOT Commissioner Stephen Brich, Henrico County Supervisor Frank Thornton, additional community leaders, and Amtrak to commemorate this crucial improvement, one of many ongoing infrastructure upgrades that will sustain the Commonwealth’s long-term commitment to improving transportation.
