Child Care Centers and Family Day Homes
Child Care PASS
Starting in 6 days (December 1), all attendance for the Child Care Subsidy Program (CCSP) must be recorded in Virginia’s new Child Care Program Attendance and Schedule System (PASS).

Registration: Create your account for PASS as soon as possible. Look for an email from supportVA@kindersystems.com for your credentials, and call KinderSystems Support at 1-888-211-6884 if you have any issues.

Training: PASS training is still available. Sign up for training HERE.

Free Daily Health Observation Training
With the cold weather upon us, the VDOE is reminding caregivers and educators that the Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA) offers free training in Health Screening for Child Care Professionals, also known as Daily Health Observation training. Register your staff today and take advantage of this free training that remains valid for three years. The training is available in English and Spanish. More information can be found on the CCWA website.

Inclusive Classroom Profile (ICP) Virginia Reliable Observer Description and Training Application – Due December 15
Early Childhood Preference Assessment
Reinforcement is a powerful tool that can support learning for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The Early Childhood Preference Assessment from Virginia Commonwealth University Rehabilitation Research and Training Center’s Autism Center for Education can be used to help families and educators identify items and activities that support effective, personalized learning.
The Essentials of Eligibility and Evaluation in Early Childhood, Two-Part Series
The VDOE is providing a two-part webinar series on the Essentials of Eligibility and Evaluation in Early Childhood. Participants will learn about best practices for evaluation of young children. School division team members engaged in determining eligibility for special education and related services for children ages two through five should attend. The webinars will be recorded. Recordings will be sent to all who register.

Head Start
Preventing Child Health and Safety Incidents Office Hours
Join the National Center on Health, Behavioral Health, and Safety for their upcoming office hours to support child health and safety. This series of office hours is designed for programs seeking strategies to prevent child maltreatment in Head Start settings. It will feature engagement with all four National Training and Technical Assistance Centers and breakout sessions for recipients to engage directly with the National Centers staff for targeted training and technical assistance.

VQB5 - Virginia's Unified Measurement and Improvement System
VQB5 Educator Profiles – One week until December 1 deadline
All VQB5 participating sites are required to have educators complete VQB5 profiles in LinkB5 each year. The VDOE has extended the 2025-2026 deadline for educator profile completion to December 1. Below are resources to support educator profile completion.

The ELDS Micro-Credential is now available for the 2025-2026 year!
The ELDS Micro-Credential supports early childhood professionals in building knowledge of Virginia’s Early Learning Developmental Standards. Each module includes videos, reflection prompts, and practical tools to apply in classrooms and programs.
