Free Daily Health Observation Training
With the cold weather upon us, the VDOE is reminding caregivers and educators that the Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA) offers free training in Health Screening for Child Care Professionals, also known as Daily Health Observation training. Register your staff today and take advantage of this free training that remains valid for three years. The training is available in English and Spanish. More information can be found on the CCWA website.

Arts Learning Opportunities for Educators & Families
Join Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts for an exciting week of free virtual workshops designed for Early Childhood educators, classrooms, and families, where we’ll explore active learning through the arts on Monday, January 27-Saturday, February 1. Enjoy sessions led by Wolf Trap Master Teaching Artists and a special appearance by Jasper the Squirrel and his puppet friends! Key focuses include dance, movement, and music experiences to promote STEM, language, and literacy learning. Early Childhood Academy starts soon! This online self-paced learning course presented by Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center in collaboration with the VDOE is for parents of young children with delays and disabilities and early childhood professionals. Topics will include the importance of family-professional partnerships, developmental milestones with updated guidelines, supporting language development and encouraging positive behaviors, the benefits of Assistive Technology, and more.
