Child Care Provider Seasonal Updates Webinar and Regional Listening Session on March 12
Join the Office of Child Care Health and Safety (OCCHS) for a webinar to receive updated information about the vision and goals of the OCCHS as it relates to child day programs and family day systems. Registration is limited to 1,000 registrants, but the webinar will be recorded and posted on the VDOE’s child care website. Following the webinar, the OCCHS team will be available to meet with providers for an in-person listening session in Norfolk. Come any time during the session to share your questions and thoughts with leadership of the OCCHS.

VPI Proposed Budget Updates Webinar - NOW February 28, 12 p.m.
Please join Jenna Conway, VDOE Deputy Superintendent of Early Childhood Care and Education, for a webinar reviewing the Governor's budget proposals and the expected timeline for budget approval. VPI coordinators and other division leadership are encouraged to attend. Registration is required. Registration information was shared via email with VPI contacts. If you did not get the registration information and need to attend please contact Tiffanie Meehling. The session will be recorded and sent to all registered attendees.

Assistive Technology for Early Learners & Learners with Complex Disabilities Webinar
Early childhood educators are invited to join this webinar to explore assistive technology via thematic units. Participants will learn how to develop lessons that include hands-on learning for our youngest and most complex learners across all content areas. To conclude the session, participants will adapt the popular book, Dragons Love Tacos.
Assistive Technology Devices and Services for Children with Disabilities Under the IDEA
The Office of Educational Technology and the Office of Special Education Programs has released guidance documents in support of children with disabilities who need assistive technology (AT) devices and services for meaningful access and engagement in education. These documents are intended to increase understanding of the IDEA’s AT requirements, dispel common misconceptions regarding AT, and provide examples of the use of AT devices and services.

2024 Dual Language Learner Celebration Week
Join the National Center on Early Childhood Development Teaching and Learning, and the National Center on Parent Family and Community Engagement in celebration of the 6th Annual Dual Language Learners week. The Office of Head Start will facilitate many activities this week to include; a discussion with OHS Director Khari Garvin, resorces for supporting culturally sustaining practices, and updated multicultural principles for early childhood leaders.
