National Child Abuse Prevention Month
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. This month-long initiative was first celebrated in 1983, to recognize the importance of families and communities coming together to build resiliency, take action, and stand with child advocates to prevent abuse. Child abuse impacts all races, education levels and income brackets. Numerous events will take place across Virginia throughout the month to help raise awareness and ensure that all children are safe across the state. Learn more about what you can do to prevent child abuse by visiting the Virginia Department of Social Services website.
