Notice Regarding Public Comment Period for Intended Regulatory Action
The Notice of Intended Regulatory Action (NOIRA) to repeal the current Background Checks for Child Day Programs and Family Day Systems (8VAC20-770) and establish a new chapter will be published in the Virginia Register of Regulations (Volume 38, Issue 12) on January 31, 2022, starting a 30-day public comment period that continues through March 2, 2022.
The NOIRA seeks to repeal the current Background Checks for Child Day Programs and Family Day Systems (8VAC20-770) and establish a comprehensive new chapter, 8VAC20-771. The purpose of this regulatory action is (1) to ensure that the regulations align with federal and state laws and (2) to clarify and update the regulatory requirements. In addition, a review of the regulations will be conducted pursuant to regulatory reduction goals.
