Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New York in Contract Negotiations with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
The Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) Office of Health Benefits was notified that some COVA members may have received notification regarding the termination of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in New York from the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New York provider network. Provider agreement discussions are being handled by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New York. The Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Virginia plan is not a part of these negotiations. The current provider agreement with MSK terminates on December 31, 2024.
New York State law requires that the parties abide by the terms of an existing agreement for two months after the contract ends. Therefore, MSK will remain in the Anthem network until at least March 1, 2025, if no agreement can be reached. At this time, members can continue to access care with MSK as an in-network Anthem provider until March 1, 2025.
