New! Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Policy Guide Series Now Available!
Dear Human Resource Directors:
DHRM has issued a series of ADA Policy Guides which are posted on the DHRM website under the Reference Guides webpage. (See the below screenshots).
State Agency HR teams are encouraged to review these documents to ensure their agency's internal procedures for responding to requests for reasonable accommodation are compliant with the Act and related EEOC compliance and enforcement regulations. In addition, two template forms are provided for those who do not already have agency-developed forms: Employee Request for Reasonable Accommodation Form to further document a verbal request for reasonable accommodation and an ADA Medical Certification Form. If you use these forms, please modify them to include your agency's name and business logo.
Please direct your questions to policy@dhrm.virginia.gov. DHRM is developing a webinar to review the ADA and present case study scenarios to further assist agency HR in providing reasonable accommodations.
