FY 2022 Compensation
DHRM has published its Authorizations and Compensation Activities Memorandum for FY22 concerning compensation activities approved in Chapter 552 of the 2021 Virginia Acts of Assembly.
Related resources, including the revised Salary Structures, FAQs, and PMIS processing instructions are available on the Authorization and Compensation Resources web site.
Pay and Holiday Calendar Posted for 2022
The 2022 Pay and Holiday Calendar has been published and is on the DHRM website. The holiday calendar reflects the following legislative changes in holidays:
• Elimination of Lee-Jackson Day, • Addition of Juneteenth (June 19 – observed on June 20 in 2022), and • Addition of Election Day on November 8 in 2022.
Agencies observing alternate holiday or payday schedules should ensure that their employees are aware of their unique schedules.

The DHRM Hiring Initiative web pages include recruitment facts and best practices, recruitment tools, and helpful resources to assist with talent outreach efforts for individuals with disabilities. With the Voluntary Self-Identification Form, agencies may invite employees to voluntarily self-identify as individuals with disabilities. More...
Employment Opportunity Plans (EOP) Due June 30
Each July 1, agencies are required to submit a formal EOP that outlines strategies for increasing the employment of individuals with disabilities. In alignment with this objective, agencies should submit their EOP to DHRM by June 30. See more...
Celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month
Please join DHRM in recognizing and honoring the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of our nation. This year’s theme is “Advancing Leaders Through Purpose-Driven Service.” The Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC) is a great educational resource about AAPI and how to celebrate their heritage and inspirational contributions to America. Dependent Care FSA Grace Period Q&A
DHRM recently announced a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA) grace period for the current plan year. This will allow employees with a DCFSA to incur claims through October 31, rather than the standard June 30. The extension does not apply to Health FSAs. See the attached Q&A.
Comings and Goings...
Office of Contracts and Finance: All the best to Alexis Wright, Fiscal Technician, as she transitions from DHRM to continue her career at the Virginia Department of Education as Accounts Receivable Technician. Alexis positively impacted the office’s ability to handle the ever increasing volume of payments and invoices generated monthly and quarterly, with a smile. We will miss Alexis and wish her well at DOE!
