This communication is being sent to all Absence Administrators, TL Administrators, Timekeepers, Absence Supervisors, and TA Self-Service users with access to enter absences in Cardinal. |
|
|
Following the Cardinal Upgrade, the process for editing submitted and approved Absence details has changed. The edit button is no longer available.
How to Edit an Absence
Step 1: Cancel the Original Request
Navigate to Cancel Absences.
Select the absence that requires correction and submit the cancellation request.
-
If the absence is pending approval: The request cancels automatically.
-
If the absence is already approved: Your supervisor must approve the cancellation before you can proceed.
Step 2: Update your Absence Request
Once the absence status shows as Cancelled, select your next step based on what needs to be updated:
-
Editing Dates or Duration Only: Go to View Requests and select the cancelled absence event. Update the dates or duration and resubmit the absence.
-
Changing Leave Type: Create a new absence request through Manage Absence.
