Two new queries are now available in Cardinal to help agencies manage interface errors and warnings for employee job and position data (HR003 and HR006).
Navigation: Menu > Reporting Tools > Query > Query Viewer >
- V_HR_EMPLOYEE_UPLOAD_ERROR – Employee Data Errors
- V_HR_POSITION_UPLOAD_ERROR – Position Data Errors
These queries supplement the existing RHR005 Employee Data Upload and RHR041 Position Data Upload error reports by providing a more flexible and user-friendly way to access error/warning data.

Key Benefits
- Users can retrieve error/warning data for any specified date range, reducing the need to consolidate multiple daily reports.

Results are delivered in a CSV/Excel format, for easy filtering and analysis.
The RHR005 and RHR041 reports will continue to be delivered via Reports Manager and Cardinal outbound interface folders.

Using the New Queries
Access: Available only to submitting agencies (child agencies without direct access to submitting agency data cannot run these queries).
Run Control Parameters:

Business Unit: Enter the submitting agency’s business unit.

Company (Optional): If managing multiple child agencies, specify the child agency company.

HR Interface Error Handling Guidelines
Agencies using the Cardinal interface program must review and correct errors promptly to prevent cascading issues (e.g., payroll, earnings distribution, financial reporting, EPR calculations) and ensure system data remains aligned.
Error Types and Resolution

File-Level Errors: Rejected files must be immediately corrected and resubmitted.

Transaction-Level Errors: Agencies can resolve errors by:
- Submitting a corrected file in the next nightly batch.
- Fixing errors directly in Cardinal for faster resolution.
