Rosslyn Jazz Fest returns on Saturday, Sept. 12, 1-7 p.m. This year’s lineup includes four standout acts:

Plena Libre: The Afro-Caribbean band brings together Plena and Bomba rhythms and dance music that honors the group’s indigenous musical traditions.

Sally Baby’s Silver Dollars: The New Orleans-based band has gained national attention after performing on NPR’s Tiny Desk, blending traditional New Orleans jazz, soul, and roots music to create a fresh new sound and high energy shows.

Parlor Greens: The instrumental organ trio channels soul-jazz rooted in blues, funk, and R&B traditions.

Dogo du Togo & The Alagaa Beat Band: Putting Togolese music on the map, the group is blending psychedelic rock and afrobeat into what they call the “Alagaa beat”.

Analog Night with Shaylin Wallace: Doodleramics (Aug. 6): Turn everyday ceramics into bold little masterpieces with artist, Shaylin Wallace. This playful, drop-in session invites you to cover mugs, vases, and other ceramic pieces with funky patterns, abstract doodles, and spontaneous designs inspired by Shaylin’s intuitive creative style.
Analog Night: Screen Printing, Patching & Embroidery Aaron Tran (Aug. 14): Join in screen printing with painter and upcycle artist Aaron Tran of TANK Studio! Aaron will have custom screens ready, featuring an exclusive “I ♡ ART” design. Step into the studio, learn the basics of screen printing, do a little upcycling, and bring home your very own custom merch.

Arlington Artists Alliance Member Showcase 2026 Part 2

Join for an author talk from DC native Sierra Barnes. After developing her own comics series, Sierra Barnes is now self-publishing the volumes. Sierra will lead a talk on her newest volume, including information on her creative process in developing the comics series and the road to self-publishing them. This will be an incredible talk for any local creatives, as well as anyone interested in the publishing process!

Movies @ Met: Hairspray

Met Park’s Central Green becomes a Friday night tradition this summer with a family friendly movie series running every other week through October 16. August 7 features Hairspray, the film based on the 2002 Broadway musical. Set in 1962 Baltimore, the film follows the self-proclaimed "pleasantly plump" teenager Tracy Turnblad as she pursues stardom as a dancer on a local TV show and rallies against racial segregation.
