 Unleashed! Meet and Greet with artist Adam Henry

Join us for a community celebration recognizing the completion of a new sculptural installation by AIR@2700 artist Adam Henry. A multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Arlington, Henry creates murals, sculptures, and community-based art projects that encourage interaction and engagement. His larger-than-life dog sculpture offers a playful and welcoming addition to the area while highlighting the role public art can play in creating memorable community gathering places. The Animal Welfare League of Arlington will partner onsite with activities and information in support of their mission to improve the lives of animals and people by providing resources, care, and protection.

Lubber Run Summer Concert Series

Beat the heat with some music at Lubber Run Amphitheater! The concert series continues through August 2, with shows Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm, and Sunday family performances at 11:00 am.

The Arlington Commission for the Arts is looking for new members!
The Commission provides leadership for the continuing growth and development of the arts and cultural life of the County, administers the distribution of County arts resources to arts organizations and artists through its Arts Grants Program, assists in developing cultural policy, and promotes the arts in Arlington. Arts Commission members come from a variety of backgrounds with diverse experiences, interests and talents, but are united in their appreciation for both Arlington and the arts. Curated by Brianna Camp, Flare: Finding a Sense of Place in the Chronically Ill Body explores the concept of a flare, a sudden burst. The exhibition features large-scale self-portraits rendered in oil paint and corresponding poetry, inspired by Royal Lake Park. It also includes a rotation of documentary photography that the artist collected over the last ten years during walks around the lake. Join on Fri, June 26, 12-4pm for an Art Healing Workshop.
