"Ghost Limb".

Ghost Limb

May 9  - 23 | Gunston Arts Center - Theatre Two | Long Branch Creek

Ghost Limb is a timely and haunting examination of authoritarianism set during Argentina’s Dirty War that draws poetic inspiration from the Persephone and Demeter myth. When Consuelo’s son is “disappeared” by the military, she discovers a psychic link between her injured arm and her tortured child - and races to find him before it’s too late.

Arlington Chorale: Reply.

Reply

Saturday, May 9 | 5pm | Westover Baptist Church | Westover

"This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before." Leonard Bernstein spoke these words after President Kennedy's assassination, and they inspire this powerful concert. Join the Arlington Chorale as they explore how artists throughout history have chosen to answer darkness with beauty. From Palestrina, J.S. Bach, and Brahms to contemporary composers like Sarah Quartel, Reena Esmail, and Ysaÿe Barnwell, experience how in every era music has become humanity's most powerful response to suffering.
