The 2025 Arlington County Fair is less than three weeks away. Do you know how you're getting to Thomas Jefferson Community Center? There is no parking at the fair, but you have plenty of other options, including a free shuttle. 

Not So Fast

When you're looking for a lift, make sure you're old enough to ride. Riders must be 18 or older to rent most e-scooters or e-bikes! 

Stay Alert

Whether it’s at the pool, beach, river or lake, Arlington County Public Health urges parents and caregivers to be extra careful around water this summer.

• Provide active adult supervision 
• Floaties and water wings are toys, not safety devices 
• Watch out for swimming hazards 

• Mark your calendar. A public hearing will be held on July 25 to discuss different plans in the Arlington Housing Choice Voucher Program.
  
  
• Join a hybrid public meeting on July 28 to review a proposed site plan located at 1111 Army-Navy Drive, also known as RiverHouse Neighborhood.
  
  
• Join Arlington County and Arlington Public Schools for the Child & Youth Well-Being Kickoff Meeting on July 29 or July 30. Register for more information. 
  
  
• The Arlington County Police Department invites the public to its Summer Quarterly Community Meetings on Aug. 7 and Aug. 12. 

• Deadline day approaching. Groups interested in hosting National Night Out events must register by July 25 to ensure police officer attendance.
  
  
• A message for Metro riders. The East Falls Church Metro Bus Bay Renovation project officially began this week.
  
  
• A best-selling author is coming to town. Arlington Reads will feature Casey McQuiston on Aug. 14. She'll discuss several topics including the film adaptation of Red, White, & Royal Blue.
  
  
• The application period is open for non-profits seeking Regional Grants to Disability Groups. Grant sizes vary by project.
  
  
• The County, in collaboration with Arlington Public Schools, is accepting funding applications for after-school programming for secondary school youth. Proposals are due by Aug. 17. 
  
  
• Two iconic pets. Two great movie nights on The Pike. Watch free, outdoor screenings of Scooby Doo on July 25 and The Garfield Movie on July 26.

Ready to Let it Loose

On July 26, Wanted Man will perform a tribute concert dedicated to the music of the Rolling Stones. The performance is part of the Lubber Run free concert series.
