Breaking Down the Budget

The Arlington County Board voted in April to adopt a $1.69 billion balanced budget for Fiscal Year 2026. The budget focuses on foundational services for the community, including housing, human services, environmental sustainability, public safety, workforce investments, and public schools.

Early Voting Returns

Early Voting for the June 17 Democratic Primary Election begins Friday, May 2. Early Voting will be open at Courthouse Plaza, 2100 Clarendon Blvd, Suite 320 Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. All registered voters in Arlington are eligible to vote early!

Something for Everyone

Arlington is celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with more than a dozen events, featuring food, dance, film, and business-networking opportunities. Take a look at a few of the events on the calendar:  

• Little Saigon Walking Tour on May 3 
• Brunch and Business event for AANHPI small business owners on May 5
• Author Talk and Food Tasting with Pat Tanumihardja on May 8
• Learn to play Mahjong at Westover Library on May 8 
• Movie Night screening of "The Farewell" on May 9

• You're invited to a hybrid public meeting on May 1 to review a proposed site plan for 1901 & 1911 Fort Myer Drive, also known as the One Rosslyn site.
  
  
• The County wants public feedback on a proposed safety improvement plan for the Wilson Blvd. & N Rhodes St. Intersection. The deadline is May 4.
  
  
• Have you seen the draft concept designs for the Monroe Park renovation? Review the project and lets us know what you think by May 16.  

• Back and better than ever. Arlington Palooza returns to Lubber Run Community Center on May 17. The event is free but make sure to register. 
  
  
• It is time to register for the 2025 Bike to Work Day. On May 15, cyclists will be able to take a break at eight pit stops in Arlington alone.
  
  
• Arlington is offering up to $500,000 in one-time funding to expand and enhance digital inclusion activities. Applications are now open.
  
  
• Arlington entrepreneurs take the stage and leave with cash investments at the 2025 BizLaunch PitchFest.
  
  
• Federal workers and interested jobseekers are invited to a networking and hiring fair on May 3. Meet and network with 50 hiring companies and find your next career.
  
  
• A new day for transportation. On June 29, Metro is launching its new Better Bus Network, designed to better serve you and the entire region.
  
  
• This is your last chance to apply for the Arlingteens Leaders Summer Internship program. The deadline is May 2.
