Would You Like a Tour?

The Arlington community is invited to the grand opening of Fire Station 8. Use the YouTube link below to watch the grand opening ceremony on April 26. 

There will be an Open House from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. to allow the public to tour the facility and view an exhibit highlighting the legacy of the Halls Hill community. Enjoy additional activities including a bounce house, climbing into fire trucks, and meeting the firefighters.

On site parking will be extremely limited. Carpool, rideshare or public transportation is recommended. There is a designated drop-off zone at Langston-Brown Community Center (2121 N. Culpeper St.)

50 Years Later 

Join us as we mark the 50th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon. The event, 9,000 miles away, led to an influx of Vietnamese refugees settling in the Clarendon neighborhood. 

Register to attend a walking tour on May 3 to learn about the history of "Little Saigon" and hear the stories of the Arlingtonians who lived there.

Earth Day is Everyday

Join us on Langston Boulevard on April 27 for this year’s Earth Day Every Day Festival. The family-friendly event has something for everyone. Enjoy the work of local art vendors, live musical performers, a kids activities center, and educational booths.

• The public is invited to weigh in on a concept design for the Wilson Blvd & N. Rhodes Street Intersection Safety Project until May 4. 
  
  
• The Neighborhood Complete Streets Program wants to make S. Dinwiddie Street and 22nd Street S Intersection safer. Give your feedback by April 27.
  
  
• The County is drafting plans to enhance safety at seven high-crash intersections in Arlington and Alexandria. Help identify priorities by April 28.
  
  
• We are well into the County's five-year Vision Zero Plan. Take two minutes and share feedback on the status of traffic safety in Arlington.

• It's official. After getting canceled last month, Arlington's Spring E-CARE event will be held on June 21.
  
  
• ICYMI: The Arlington County Board voted to adopt a $1.69 billion balanced budget for Fiscal Year 2026.
  
  
• Get rid of unwanted prescription drugs on National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on April 26. There are permanent drop-off locations available in Arlington 24/7. 
  
  
• Listen up, drivers. There will be more than a dozen road closures and traffic changes across Arlington on April 26 and 27 due to three weekend events.
  
  
• The Arlington County Police Department is showcasing its new recruitment webpage to highlight career benefits for potential applicants.
  
  
• The Arlington County Bar Foundation will hold a panel discussion about community resources to avoid eviction. It is free and open to the public.
  
  
• Do you suspect a case of fraud or embezzlement involving County funds? Take advantage of the confidential Financial Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Hotline. 
  
  
• Get ready to roll. Teens are invited to the Teen Takeover Spring Break Skate Night at the Thomas Jefferson Community center on April 26.

Mark your calendars for the 11th Annual Arlington Festival of the Arts on April 26 and 27 in Clarendon! This free community event features a diverse range of artistic mediums, including sculpture, pottery, jewelry, and painting.
