Celebrate Black History Month

Arlington County is celebrating our diverse community with a month of events commemorating Black History Month, including the 31st annual Feel the Heritage Festival on Feb. 22. Here is a list of other events happening this month: 

• Nothing Personal exhibition at Mason Exhibitions Arlington
• The Black History of the Chesapeake Bay Aquaculture Feb. 15 
• Story & Crafts: The story of Fearless Mary Fields on Feb. 20 
• Conversation with author Dr. Noliwe Rooks on Feb. 27  

Board Proclamation 

The County Board has officially proclaimed February 2025 as Black History Month in Arlington County.

Update Your Calendars 

There is plenty to do in Arlington this month. Whether you are looking for fun Valentine's Day events like Skate Night Date Night or searching for a winter farmers market, this month, it's All in Arlington. 

• The County Board will consider adopting a Climate Action Resolution at its February meeting. Read the draft and share your feedback by Feb. 14.  
  
  
• The County is seeking feedback on a proposal to build a 16-story residential building at 2500 Wilson Blvd. The deadline is Friday, Feb. 7. 
  
  
• Time is running out to share your thoughts about the tactical speed humps installed in several school zones. The feedback event ends Feb. 8.
   
• The Crystal City to Reagan National Airport project team is asking for your help to identify design priorities. Online feedback ends on Feb. 16. 
  
  
• Please share your thoughts on the final draft concept for two synthetic turf fields at Kenmore Middle School.

• The author of the bestselling Bridgerton series is coming to town on Feb.13 for an Arlington Reads event. If you can't attend in person, save this livestream link and watch from anywhere. 
  
  
• Early registration is open for 2025 Summer Camps in Arlington. Fee reduction assistance is available for those who qualify.

• Applications are now open for a free, in-person training course to become an Arlington Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteer.
   
• Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington is currently accepting proposals for a series of solo exhibitions by Mid-Atlantic artists.
  
  
• The Animal Welfare League of Arlington hopes you fall in love with a new pet on Valentine's Day weekend. Don't worry. Fees won't be a problem.
