Night Out 

We are less than a week from the 2024 National Night Out. The Arlington County Police Department plans to meet neighbors at more than a dozen locations.

40 Years in the Making

On Aug. 1, Arlington celebrated a yearly solar spectacle at Dark Star Park. The event marks 40 years of public art in the County.

Arlington is now home to more than 70 permanent public art projects and has received international acclaim for its collection. 

Kick Your Food Scraps to the Curb

The County is rolling out new on-street food scrap collection bins. Just give us 30 seconds and you can learn all about the program that cuts down on trash and helps the environment.

• Are you good at picking names? Arlington could use your feedback about three draft names for the new Harris Teeter Site park.

• Share feedback about your experiences on Arlington Boulevard Trail. The County is developing a concept plan to make safety improvements.
  
  
• Share your thoughts on the latest design of the Gulf Branch Resilience Project, which will address erosion and protect against climate change.
  
  
• The Military and Veterans Advisory Committee (MVAC) is seeking input from members of the military, veterans, and their families who live and/or work in Arlington about programs and resources that could be helpful. 

• As part of the County's Vision Zero safety program, nearly a dozen new red-light safety cameras are coming to intersections across Arlington. 
  
  
• If you are looking for the spot in Arlington with the best view of Washington D.C., then we have a whole list of possible destinations. 
  
  
• Arlington offers free paper shredding for county residents on the first Saturday of every month. The next date is this Sat., Aug. 3.
  
  
• Last Call. The final event of this year's Lubber Run free Concert Series is set for Fri., Aug. 2. 
  
  
• The heat may keep you inside during the day this weekend. But when the sun goes down, there will be free outdoor movies on Fri. and Sat. evening.
  
  
• The first 60 teens to register on site at Late Night at the Mill on Aug. 3 can join a basketball clinic with the Washington Mystics Youth Basketball team.
