The Arlington Arts Grants Program is a competitive program that supports individual artists and arts organizations with financial grants for operating support (organizations) and activities/projects (individual artists) that:

  • Are mission focused;
  • Foster excellence, cultural equity and diversity of arts and culture in Arlington County;
  • Have significant impact on the community or meet a need in the County; and,
  • Result in distinctive, high quality, and meaningful cultural experiences in Arlington County.

Please note that one of the Arts Commission’s priorities is to fund organizations and projects that have a strong dedication to equity and/or youth well-being; it is with that in mind that the review panelists will be looking for projects that meet that goal. More

What Is Your Guidepost? by Molly McCracken

Join for the last activations of the series! Make a collage postcard illustrating a guidepost made of a stack of hand cut “paper rocks” (otherwise known as a “cairn”) thinking about what landmarks capture your attention in your neighborhood. Write a few words on the postcard about what you are mindful of in your community and place it in the box to be mailed back as a reminder at the end of the project. Meet with Arlington artist Molly McCracken, along with a member from your civic association or a representative from the County’s Arlington Neighborhoods Program to learn how you can be part of building our communities and noticing what makes them special.
