It's Hot Out There
An extreme heat wave has delivered days of 90-degree temperatures, with relief still several days away. Remember to stay safe and cool. Drink plenty of water and stay inside air-conditioned buildings as much as possible.
BEAT THE HEAT: Visit one of Arlington's many spraygrounds, community centers, libraries, or shopping malls for FREE air conditioning.
Heat Impacting Trash Collection Service
Due to prolonged heat in the forecast for next week, crews will pick up curbside trash, recycling and organics starting at 6 a.m. to take advantage of cooler morning temperatures.
Residents should place carts at the curb no later than 5:30 a.m. on their scheduled collection day.
This earlier start time will remain in effect from Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28
Got Plans for the Summer?
Classes begin next week but there is still time to sign up for a new adventure in Arlington. There are still spots available in all kinds of classes, including soccer, swimming, dance, and martial arts.
