Juneteenth Celebrations
Arlington County is commemorating Juneteenth with a series of events celebrating the lives and legacies of the County's African American citizens. Several events will take place next week, including:
The County is also commemorating Juneteenth by honoring the 107th United States Colored Troops on June 20. RSVP to attend the sign-unveiling, which honors the brave soldiers who played a pivotal role in the Civil War and Arlington's history.
Arlington County Government offices & services are operating on modified schedules for the Juneteenth holiday on Wednesday, June 19.
Primary Election Voting
The Dual Primary Election is on June 18. Early Voting is open until Saturday, June 15 at three locations.
On Election Day, all Arlington polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Be sure to confirm your polling place location if you’re voting on Election Day.
The Dual Primary Election on June 18 will use the Ranked Choice Voting method, meaning voters will be able to rank up to three candidates in order of preference.
Heat Wave Approaching
With a heat wave forecast for next week, it's important to be prepared! Extreme heat can be dangerous, but there are ways to stay safe and cool. Drink plenty of water, stay indoors in air conditioning, and check on vulnerable loved ones.
BEAT THE HEAT: Visit one of Arlington's many spraygrounds, community centers, libraries, or shopping malls for free air conditioning.

The 27th annual Columbia Pike Blues Festival returns this weekend. This year, the festival celebrates women in Blues with a lineup of women-led bands.
The Columbia Pike Blues Festival runs on Saturday, June 15, from 1:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
