Reclining Liberty Opening Celebration

Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington and Arlington Public Art are thrilled to announce the upcoming installation of artist Zaq Landsberg’s celebrated Reclining Liberty in Arlington, Virginia. Marking the nationally noted work's first appearance outside of the New York Metropolitan area, the 25-foot-long sculpture will be installed on MoCA Arlington’s front lawn the first week in August. An opening celebration and community picnic. The work will remain on view until July 28, 2024. More

Four vengeful, narcissistic actors, with the assistance of a brutish stage manager and a cynical stagehand, abduct and hold captive a theatre critic notorious for shutting down productions and ending careers through his malicious reviews. To confound matters, they intend to carry their plan out during a performance of a show they're all currently appearing in. Less than an hour before the curtain is due to rise, their scheme begins to quickly unravel; we discover that none of the conspirators are familiar with the actual plan or its designed outcome. Arlington Artists Alliance: Out Of the Blue

Arlington Artists Alliance is pleased to announce a national juried exhibition, Out of the Blue. It is a broad theme of artworks open to the artist's interpretation, with ideas ranging everywhere from sky or water scenes, depictions of the unexpected, emergence from melancholy times, or even a departure from the color blue. The exhibition will be juried by Susan O’Neill, currently on faculty at the University of Maryland, and represented at Principle Gallery, in Alexandria, Virginia. Through most of the summer, middle and high school teens have taken part in fun nights of dance, sports, art activities, snacks and more! The center will stay open late from 8-11 p.m. for kids to hang out with friends, meet new ones and have some fun. The final two events are on Sat, Aug 5 and Aug 12. The last night (8/12) will be a pool party at Long Bridge Aquatic Center. More
