Medicaid Eligibility and Renewal
Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, many individuals automatically received healthcare through Medicaid and the renewal process was paused to help individuals and families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dear VICAP Team,
I will be released from the hospital soon after going through surgery. Once I get home, it might be difficult for me to leave my home to attend appointments and physical therapy. Will Medicare cover my physical therapy at home?
Dear Medicare Beneficiary,
If you qualify, Medicare covers home health care services such as:
- Skilled nursing
- Skilled therapy services
- Home health aide
- Medical social services
- Medical supplies
- Durable medical equipment (DME)
These home health care services may have limitations for the number of home care hours or services you can receive. There are also certain eligibility requirements that you must meet. To begin home health care services, you must speak with your doctor or hospital discharge planner so that it is included in your hospital discharge plan.
If you have Original Medicare, you can search home health agencies (HHAs) by visiting medicare.gov or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, you can contact your plan directly to retrieve a list of HHAs within your plan's network.
It's Volunteer Appreciation Month! we would like to share a big THANK YOU to our team of dedicated volunteers who have assisted a great number of beneficiaries with Medicare and Medicaid related needs.
