Valley Fest is a collaboration and celebration of the Four Mile Run Valley Arts and Local Businesses. Area musicians and performing artists will set the stage for entertainment, local artists will showcase their pieces, and food trucks will offer tasty delights. A kid’s zone will keep the family busy and beer will be in abundance. More

Art and An Artist: Printmaking

Join us to learn about the artwork displayed in the Shirlington Branch Library gallery by Arlington Arts visiting artist, Amos Paul Kennedy Jr. and what his work has to do with Arlington's Civil Right's History. Afterward, we'll try out a bit of printmaking to make our own prints. For grades 1-5. More

Learn about Arlington’s birds that are threatened by loss of habitat in Virginia and what you can do to help them. Artist Greg Stewart, sculptor and professor at James Madison University, and Naz Anissi, a George Mason University student, will be on-hand to facilitate your artmaking. You can select from a library of laser-cut names of Arlington’s birds, then stencil them onto the ground with sifted soil and create a bird sculpture using clay and native seeds in the shape of the threatened birds to take and plant. More

Arlington Visual Art Studio Tour

Area residents will be able to see a wider array of art than ever before at the Arlington Visual Art Studio Tour this September. Nearly 60 artists have signed up to open their studios to the public on the weekend of September 17 and 18 from 11am to 5pm. The Tour will offer a free guide to what’s on view where, so that anyone can meet the artists in their maker spaces and see examples of their work. Join for the launch party on Fri, Sept 16, 6-8pm, at Fred Schnider Gallery. More

A musical centered around activism, join to stop the presses and hear the rallying cry to create, affect, and promote change. A story of student voice and the power of youth, follow as TAP takes you through a turn-of-the-century New York City, where media bigwigs are fighting against youthful groups that make the distribution of their newspapers possible. Come see the amount of power that the collective voice of youth activism had in 1899, and judge how much power that collective voice has in our society today. More

Andrew Katz brings fresh compositions to live music shows, collaborating with the MCs, DJs, and creators of his favorite music. The portrait boxes are each new interpretations of the musical artists, their lyrics, and the classic and vintage nature of their place in the genre of Hip-Hop. Join for the opening reception with DJ Oso Fresh on the turntables and special appearance by Master Gee from the Sugarhill Gang. More

They will also have pony rides, a community basketball games, tons of vendors, plenty of food and concessions. Don't miss Jane Franklin Dance at 3pm, and stop by the Arlington Art Truck between 12 and 6pm. Come out for this free family event!
