Jazz Journeys: A Musical Tour of In Spite of Modernism

Sundays | Mar 6-20 | 2-4pm | Arlington Arts Center | Virginia Square

Arlington Arts Center in collaboration with Arlington Arts invites you to a musical tour of In Spite of Modernism with local jazz artists. Each Sunday in March, during the run of the exhibition, a local musician will lead visitors on a jazz journey creating improvisational music in response to the artworks within the galleries. Roving jazz tours will start every 30 minutes from 2PM to 4PM. More

Join Encore on a trip to the Emerald Isle! After a row with her parents, adventuresome teen Riley O’Brien mysteriously finds herself transported to Ireland with Flanagan Hannigan, a Leprechaun-in-training, who needs her help to complete a final challenge. Meeting pixies, banshees, and other mythical creatures along the way, can they work together to discover the true magic of friendship and family? More

 

 

Arlington Artists Alliance: Earth Speaks

In Earth Speaks Barazi uses mixed media on canvas to explore the questions: “Are humanoids advancing or retrogressing? Were we once a high-tech civilization, and are we now living in a virtual simulation? As humans tamper with the process of evolution, speeding extinctions, and creating organizational powers and loyalty of thousands to go to wars, when few animals do, are we truly the superior species?” Join for an opening reception on Friday, March 4 from 5-7pm. More
