How to Count College Students in the Midst of COVID-19
Many college students have come home to shelter in place in response to COVID-19. Make sure they get counted correctly! Here's some guidance to follow:

Normally live in the dorms, but now staying with your parents? Your school officials are working with the U.S. Census Bureau to get you counted.
Sheltering in place at your off-campus housing? Get counted at your address like you normally would.

Response Rate: 34.5% and Counting!
As of this morning, Arlington County's Census response rate is 34.5%! We're continuing to push awareness of the Census on social media with neighborhood response updates and trivia and would appreciate your help to share on your networks. Teach Your Kids About the Census
Take some time for teachable moments while you and your kids fill out the census together. The number of people counted is tied to funding for:

APRIL 1, 2020 IS CENSUS DAY! The U.S. Census counts every resident in the nation, including right here in Arlington County. As mandated by the U.S. Constitution, America gets just one chance each decade to count its population. The collected data helps to determine things like the number of seats Virginia has in the House of Representatives, and how to distribute federal funds to local communities like ours.
