Screen Time & Brain Development for ages 0 - 5

The focus is on parents and caregivers of children ages 0 - 5, however, are welcome.

PROGRAM INCLUDES:

  • Brain Development Groundwork: Arlington PIE Staff
  • Screentime and Your Child: Dr. Subarna Dharia – Developmental Pediatrician
  • Replacing Screentime – Practical Ideas: Amanda Dagle, Dept of Parks & Recreation

Registration is requested.  Walk-ins welcome on a space available basis.   

All Arlington parents and caregivers of children between birth and five years old are welcome.

Arlington County Government provides accommodations (e.g., sign language interpreters, alternate format materials) for qualified individuals with disabilities. Developing Structures and Routines

March 21 4:30 - 5:30 pm

Bright Horizons at Courthouse Station is pleased to partner with APCYF to provide this engaging workshop for parents of young children. All parents are welcome!

  • Learn from speaker Michael Swisher, a parent and parent educator with 15+ years of experience.
  • Discuss the importance of creating routines for children of all ages, and come away with a template for setting them up in your home.
  • Share ideas for organizing space in your home that will allow children to build responsibility.

Friday CAFÉ

Professional Network for Community and Family Engagement

What: Friday CAFE is a morning discussion and networking series for people who work at the intersection of families and learning. Our gatherings feature a short talk, fresh coffee and thought-provoking ideas and conversation.

Who: Our members go by many different names. Some work in schools, others in the community. Are you a school leader, counselor, bilingual family liaison, parent ambassador, school staff member, parent liaison, community partner or parent leader? Are you passionate about family engagement? Friday CAFEs are for you!

Parent Voices: Mongolian Families in Arlington - Arlington is home to a vibrant community of Mongolian families. Join us to learn about their rich heritage and experiences so you can effectively connect with and engage Mongolian families.  Conversation Catalysts: Mungunzaya Coughlin, Parent and APS Bilingual Family LIaison at Hoffman-Boston Elementary School and Dr. Rosa Briceno, Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Specialist with Arlington Public Schools.
