15th Annual Dia De Los Muertos @ Arlington Arts Center 

Celebrate Dia de los Muertos with family-friendly art projects, face painting, live dance performances by Ballet Folklorico Mi Herencia Mexicana, and traditional mariachi music by Mariachi Aguila. Mexican hot chocolate and pan de muerto will be served at AAC with delicious tacos from local food trucks available on our lawn.On Friday, November 2 and Saturday, November 3 from 6 to 8:30pm, MasPaz and Robin Bell will explore the Día de los Muertos theme in visual form with a unique projection on AAC’s facade.

In conjunction with the celebration, AAC’s Día de los Muertos exhibition will feature a selection of prints from Self-Help Graphics & Art’s 2017 exhibition Día de los Muertos: A Cultural Legacy, Past, Present & Future. Self-Help Graphics & Art is a community-driven nonprofit based in Los Angeles that is devoted to fostering the creation and advancement of new work by Chicano/a and Latinx artists. Washington, DC-based artist David Amoroso will also create a site specific ofrenda in one of AAC’s upper level galleries. More

100th Anniversary of Armistice Day – A Memorial Performance

Bowen McCaulley Dance celebrates 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day (1918) with a performance of Eric Hampton's ''UnRavel'' set to Maurice Ravel’s, Le Tombeau de Couperin as a memorial dedication to Ravel and the many friends he lost to WWI. This is the first time “Unravel” will be performed to live music by Arlington Philharmonic. More

Holiday Mini-Camp and Play in a Day (Veterans Day)

When school’s out, Encore’s on…onstage, that is! Discover the world of theatre through popular stories from the page and screen. Students in grade Kindergarten – 2nd grade will enjoy a day of theatre games, crafts, creative activities, and storytelling in a safe and supportive environment. Students in 3rd – 5th grade will work together to create a brand new play in just one camp day! Using their imaginations, students will develop the script and story, create the setting, and star in the show. This never before seen production will be performed at the end of the day for family and friends. More

Locavore Film Series: Rock N Roll Revival Doc

At a time where other schools are eliminating their music and arts program, Sherwood High School in Montgomery County MD has managed to produce a Rock n Roll Revival show and has been doing it for the pass 45 years. The documentary chronicles the history of the show as well as documenting the 45th year. More
