Get ready groove on the 'Pike Two Ton Twig on Friday, March 2 @ 7PM!

Arlington Arts free dance party series at the library continues with Two Ton Twig and their foot-stomping new take on classic bluegrass. Built on a foundation of classic bluegrass instrumentation, this string quintet combines emotion and depth with their raucous and carefree attitude, to form a wholly original sound. Part of the free Groovin' On the Pike dance party series on First Fridays, it features a cash bar by New District Brewing Co. More





Join us for the Opening Reception for the exhibit MODERN QUILTSCAPES, on Sat., March 3, 2018, 3 - 5PM. Curated by the Arlington County CostumeLab in collaboration with the DC Modern Quilt Guild. The exhibit celebrates the art of contemporary quilt making. Exhibition runs thru March 27. RSVP here

The Locavore Film Series Presents From the Back of the Room 

The Locavore Film Series presents FROM THE BACK OF THE ROOM, a documentary showcasing the past 30 years of female involvement in DIY punk, and has interviews with over 30 women from across the country, ages 17 to 40. Race, gender, sexuality, motherhood, class, and activism are all addressed in this film, giving a more complete picture of how these women participate in the DIY community, and how it affects their daily lives. More

Nico Fertakis: Halo-Halo

Halo-halo is a popular Filipino dessert that combines shaved ice, sweetened legumes, plantains, evaporated milk, and other assorted items that don’t typify the pie and ice cream of American menus. But the exhibition of prints by Nico Fertakis doesn’t feature images of halo-halo, or any other dessert, for that matter. It’s leaning on the conceptual nature of what the decadent dessert does: mash stuff together. More

Preconstruction Tour: Arlington House 

Join AIA|DC, The National Park Service and GWWO, Inc./Architects for a tour of the historic Arlington House before it's closed to the public for extensive rehabilitation. Tour guides include Ming-Yi Wong, Historical Architect, and Kimberly Robinson, Museum Curator, and Bryan Fisher, AIA of GWWO, Inc./Architects. During this tour, participants will get an up-close view of the preconstruction conditions and an overview of NPS strategies for addressing the site’s most pressing preservation challenges.
