Monthly Contractors and Permit Expeditors meetings

Residential and commercial contractors and permit expeditors are invited to monthly meetings to identify ways to improve the permit issuance process. Meeting materials are posted on the new Building Arlington. 

Arlington's Parking Policy           

Arlington County is making updates and revisions to the parking policy for multi-family residential buildings located near Metro Stations. Learn more about the Residential Parking Working Group.

Short-Term Residential Rental Regulations

The County is developing zoning regulations for short-term residential rentals, which will affect rentals through online services such as Airbnb, Craigslist and others. See the timeline and community engagement efforts.

County Board Amends Comprehensive Sign Plan Regulations

Newly approved changes to the Zoning Ordinance will allow more flexibility for properties subject to older comprehensive sign plan regulations.

County Board Approves Tools to Implement Rosslyn Sector Plan

Recently approved Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance amendments will help achieve the transformative vision outlined in the Rosslyn Sector Plan

Four Mile Run Valley: Save the date

Mark your calendar for a multi-day Community Visioning Workshop Dec. 2-6. Community members will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on design exercises, share their ideas, discuss the issues and lay a strong foundation for a shared vision. Community Facilities Study: We are implementing recommendations, share your feedback

The County Manager and APS Superintendent are seeking community input on the staff’s draft responses to the Community Facilities Study recommendations. Input is also sought on a draft charter for a new advisory commission, the Joint Facilities Advisory Commission (JFAC), which is proposed to be established by the County and School Boards. Share your comments online by Oct. 24. A public meeting will be held on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Navy League Building.

Neighborhood Award Winners Announced

The 2016 Virginia Statewide Neighborhood Conference was held in Arlington Sept.30-Oct. 1. Congratulations to our partners, who were recognized and honored during the conference. The Lee Highway Alliance was named Advocate of the Year and Nauck Youth Enterprises received 2nd place for Youth Individual Effort of the Year.
