Notice about 23rd & Clark Transitway Station

Earlier this week, repairs to a water main on South Clark Street between 20th and 23rd Streets caused damage to the Transitway station in that area. The station is still open and accessible, and we are working to make repairs.

The damage is on the north end of the station, but riders can still access the station from the south – which is the more common access point and is ADA accessible.

Construction Updates

ART Bus Facility

The contractor continues to work on the building’s exterior, finishing up the block work last week and now focusing on the decorative brick. The fuel island canopy, which is the future fueling station for ART buses, has been assembled. All of the compressed natural gas equipment has been delivered and installed.

New sidewalk, curb and gutter work continues along South Eads Street – be aware of minor delays in this area during daily commutes. View project page

On South Eads from 31st Street to Glebe Road, the sidewalk along the east side is temporarily closed, but the bike lane remains open.

Crystal City Multimodal Center

This week the contractor began reconstructing the southwest quadrant of the South Bell Street and 18th Street intersection. Crews also began to install and reset pavers adjacent to the Crystal City Metro Station.

Once the paver installation is completed, scheduled for early August, an additional crosswalk between the northwest and northeast quadrants of the intersection can be opened for pedestrian access.  View project page
