New Site Plan Intake Process

Arlington County has a new business process for new site plan applications and major site plan amendments. The process is effective August 2016.

Final Draft Design for Nauck Town Square Now Available

Share your feedback on artist Walter Hood's final draft design for the Nauck Town Square, which he debuted to the community on June 24. Feedback due today, July 21 (open until midnight).

Celebrate Redesigned Arlington Courthouse Plaza

Two County Plans Win Awards from Virginia APA

The American Planning Association Virginia Chapter recognized two Arlington County planning initiatives at their 2016 awards ceremony on July 19. Arlington's Community Facilities Study won the Public Outreach and Engagement Award and the Courthouse Sector Plan Addendum received two honorable mentions for both Outstanding Plan and Public Outreach and Engagement. South Rhodes Street Project to Add Housing Near Columbia Pike

Columbia Pike continues to revitalize, with the Board approving a development at 1201 S Rhodes Street that will add market rate and affordable housing.

Metropolitan Park Final Phase

The County Board approved Phase 6 site plan for the Metropolitan Park development in Pentagon City. Developer Vornado plans a new apartment building with of 577 units and 9,665 square feet of ground floor retail space.

4040 Wilson Blvd. - Ballston Development

The County Board approved a site plan amendment at 4040 Wilson Blvd. that will allow the applicant, The Shooshan Co., to develop a mixed-use building in place of a previously-approved office building. The approved development, Liberty Center, is part of the 5.35-acre Founder’s Square project that the County Board originally approved in 2008.

Ballston Quarter Redevelopment

The County Board voted to create Arlington’s first Community Development Authority (CDA), a critical step in the public-private partnership that will transform the Ballston Common Mall into Ballston Quarter, a mixed-use urban retail project in the heart of Ballston.
