Old Dominion Phase 2 Improvements Email Alert

Old Dominion Drive

Arlington County is adding sidewalks on both sides of Old Dominion Drive (Route 309), making the road more pedestrian and cyclist friendly. Other project features include new curbs and gutters, installation of a stormwater system, upgrades to transit stops and new traffic signals, street lights and street trees.

Construction work hours within the roadway are 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday.

New Updates

  • Despite recent unideal weather conditions, the project is moving along on schedule.
  • Storm drain work continues along Old Dominion Drive.
  • Installation of sidewalks, curbs and gutters continue along the service road between 29th Street N. and Rock Spring Road.
  • Sidewalk, curb, gutter and grading work is underway on Old Dominion Drive at N. Edison and 38th Streets.
  • Communication conduit is being installed.
  • Phase two of the tree clearing will start soon.
