Respiratory illness season is here. To protect you, and those around you, the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (Lovell FHCC) is currently offering the influenza vaccine. Below, see the shot distribution locations, dates and times.
Main Hospital, Veteran beneficiaries, by appointment: Veteran patients may receive their influenza vaccine during their regular Veterans Primary Care or Women’s Health appointment at the main hospital in North Chicago (3001 Green Bay Road, North Chicago, IL). Additionally, you can call 224-610-2447 to schedule an appointment.
Main Hospital, Veteran beneficiaries, walk-in: You can walk in to Veterans Primary Care or Women's Health to receive your flu shots Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. or Saturday, 10/18, from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Evanston CBOC, Veteran beneficiaries: Evanston CBOC patients may walk in for influenza vaccinations from 1-3 p.m., Wednesdays and Fridays at 1942 Dempster Street, Evanston, IL. For appointments, call 224-610-2447. Evening walk-in hours are scheduled for Oct. 9 and 16 from 4 - 6 p.m.
McHenry CBOC, Veteran beneficiaries: McHenry CBOC patients may walk in for influenza vaccinations from 1-3 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays at 3715 Municipal Drive, McHenry, IL. For appointments, call 224-610-2447. Evening clinics are scheduled for October 7 and 9 from 4-6 p.m.
Kenosha CBOC, Veteran beneficiaries: Kenosha CBOC patients may walk in for influenza vaccinations from 8 - 11:30 a.m. on Fridays at 8207 22nd Avenue, Kenosha, WI. For appointments, call 224-610-2447. An evening clinic is scheduled for Oct. 9 from 2 - 6 p.m. Additionally, a weekend clinic is scheduled for Oct. 18, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Additionally,
CHAMP VA beneficiaries under the age of 65 may receive the vaccination at the Main Hospital or the Evanston, McHenry, or Kenosha CBOCs per the instructions above.
CHAMP VA beneficiaries over the age of 65 should find a provider in the community. Visit Find VA Locations on the VA's website. Select “Community Pharmacies” in the Facility Type drop-down menu to find an in-network pharmacy by zip code.
Active Duty Families and Retirees, Main Hospital, : Department of Defense/TRICARE beneficiaries may receive their influenza vaccinations by appointment or walk-in, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday - Friday at the Immunizations Clinic (Building. 133EF) at the main hospital (3001 Green Bay Road, North Chicago, IL). Call 224-610-7844 to schedule an appointment. Weekend clinics will be available on Oct. 18 and 25 from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Veteran and TRICARE Beneficiary Flu Shots in the Community: If you prefer to receive your Flu vaccine at your local pharmacy, use the resources below:
- Department of Defense/TRICARE beneficiaries can search for participating pharmacies in the community by going to the TRICARE Influenza Vaccination Page. Under “Participating Network Pharmacy,” select “Search Online,” then “Find a Pharmacy” and enter your zip code.
- Veterans can receive the Flu shot at pharmacies in the VA network. Go to Find VA Locations. Select “Community Pharmacies” in the "Facility Type" drop-down menu to find an in network pharmacy by zip code.
Active duty personnel are encouraged to get their vaccinations with their commands for proper tracking and command compliance.
Other Immunizations: Patients who need other vaccines should contact their primary care provider for more information about vaccination locations and availability.
