The Stockbridge VA Clinic located at 175 Medical Boulevard in Stockbridge, GA, will be temporarily closed on Friday, November 8 – Friday, November 15, 2024.
We are temporarily closing to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and painting. All Veteran patients have been notified directly by our Health Administration Service team to maximize telehealth modalities and minimize impact to patient care. This means Veterans were given the option to transition to virtual appointments or reschedule based on their preferences.
Veterans may call the AVAHCS main line at 404-321-6111, press 2 to change or schedule an appointment. In the event of a medical emergency, please dial 9-1-1 or go to the nearest open emergency room.
The clinic is expected to reopen on Monday, November 18, 2024. Thank you for your understanding during this time. We remain committed to providing safe, timely, and quality care to our Veterans.
Atlanta VA Health Care System outpatient clinics and administrative offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024, in observance of Veterans Day. In case of emergency, Veterans should dial 911 or visit the closest emergency department. Thank you to all Veterans for your service.
Join the Atlanta VA Executive Director Kai D. Mentzer, members of the Executive Leadership Team, Atlanta VA staff, and most importantly, our Veterans, for a celebration honoring all who served. Invite a Veteran, give them a ride to the celebration, and join us for a day of making memories. We look forward to your participation.

In honor of Lung Cancer Awareness Month, the Atlanta VA Healthcare System is proud to partner with the American Cancer Society National Lung Cancer Roundtable, to raise awareness and increase access to high-quality lung cancer screenings.
Please share this with a Veteran, and join us on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.

Whole Health is VA’s approach to care that supports your health and well-being. Whole Health centers around what matters to you, not what is the matter with you. This means your health team will get to know you as a person, before working with you to develop a personalized health plan based on your values, needs, and goals. This partnership seeks to encourage all Veterans, staff, and caregivers to live Whole Health.

According to Health.gov, a person possesses health literacy when they can locate relevant healthcare information, have an adequate level of understanding of that information, and be able to use the information when making health-related decisions.
Overall, health literacy plays an important role in both preventing health issues and seeking aid for oneself and others when health issues occur. The Concussion Awareness Now coalition has reinforced the importance of raising awareness about the physical and cognitive symptoms of head injuries, supporting the need for programs aimed at improving brain health literacy. In response to this need, the Atlanta VA Center for Visual and Neurocognitive Rehabilitation (CVNR) partnered with the Lawrenceville Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) for the second Brain Carnival.
