Get Ready: COVID Vaccines Will Be Available Starting September 23rd

Dear Veterans,

COVID-19 continues to spread in our community and COVID-19 vaccines have consistently protected against severe disease and death. We encourage you to get the updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 shot if you have not already done so. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have issued updated recommendations for getting the updated vaccine.

The following people should get one single updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine:

  1. All adults if it’s been at least 2 months since receiving any older COVID-19 vaccine.
  2. Anyone who has not yet received any COVID-19 vaccine.
  3. Additionally, people with moderately to severely immunocompromising conditions may receive additional updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 doses, if recommended by their provider.

Adults are up to date after receiving one single dose of the most recent COVID-19 vaccine (the updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine, authorized in August 2024). Updated 2024-2025 vaccine shots are available free of charge to Veterans receiving care at VA.
