FREE flu vaccines now available to Veterans - includes drive-through & extended clinic hours

Free Drive-Through and Extended Hours Flu Clinics

For Enrolled Veterans of the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System

TOPEKA, KS / LEAVENWORTH, KS – FREE flu vaccines are now available to Veterans enrolled in the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System.  Veterans who have a routine appointment with their provider can receive a free flu vaccine while in clinic, at any Primary Care, Behavioral Health, or Specialty Clinic.

Beginning September 23, 2024, flu vaccines will also be available at our convenient drive-through clinics at the Topeka and Leavenworth VA Medical Centers. 

Several of our associated community-based outpatient clinics will also be offering extended-hours flu shot clinics on select dates in September and October

Veterans coming to our drive-through clinics should bring a VA ID card and wear clothing that allows staff to reach their upper arm.

COVID-19 vaccines will not be available at our flu shot drive-through clinics.  Veterans wishing to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine should call their team for a vaccine clinic appointment.

Topeka VA Medical Center:  2200 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka, KS 66622. 

Drive-through flu clinic:  Building 3 - outside circular drive. 

Monday-Fridays:  September 23, 2024 - November 1, 2024.  7:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Drive-through extended hours:   Select Wednesdays, from 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm:

A flu shot outreach will also be held at the Emporia American Legion, Post #5, 2921 W. 12th Ave., Emporia, KS 66801, on Wednesday, October 15, 2021, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

No-cost flu vaccines are also available to eligible Veterans at in-network retail pharmacies and urgent care clinics through the VA’s Community Care Network.  If needed, you can also get vaccinated for COVID-19 at the same time.  Take your VA ID card and the VA’s Billing Information.  See important information on our VA Eastern Kansas Health Care Flu Vaccination website.
