Veterans Socials acts as an upstream suicide prevention tool by bolstering social support systems and equipping Veteran communities with the knowledge and resources necessary to address mental health concerns and support Veterans in their own community, while simultaneously reducing stigma associated with help-seeking.

VA’s Office of Rural Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Office of Rural Health featured Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Coordinated Access to Reduce Exacerbations (COPD CARE) during their Rural Health Webinar on August 14.
VIRTUAL VA MOBILE CRISIS RESPONSE SYMPOSIUM
Veterans Mobile Evaluation Team (VMET) and the Veterans Response Team (VRT) are effective tools for VA facilities to enhance access to mental health care for Veterans in crisis. On August 14, more than 150 VA clinicians, leaders, and police from across VA learned about how to implement the two programs. Learn more about implementing a mobile response team by attending one of the virtual VA Mobile Crisis Response Symposiums on September 12, or October 8.
