To our valued readers across VA and beyond,
Welcome to the Office of Advanced Manufacturing's (OAM) second quarterly newsletter. As OAM’s executive director, it gives me great pleasure to share with you the latest strides in advanced manufacturing technologies within VA health care.
In this issue, we delve into the world of 3D-printed pre-procedural models, providing you with an insightful introduction to their significance and impact on patient care. Discover how these 3D-printed models can revolutionize health care practices and enhance Veteran patient outcomes.
We are also excited to share a heartwarming, Veteran-focused story that showcases the transformative power of 3D-printing technology in dental care. Learn how one Veteran's smile was changed through 3D-printed dentures, highlighting OAM's leadership in this innovative field and collaboration with VA’s Dental National Program Office. And meet Archie Jugarap, a key figure in our additive manufacturing dental tech team, whose contributions exemplify OAM’s dedication to improving Veteran care.
Furthermore, we are thrilled to unveil our latest collaborative product, the Naloxone Trainer. Created by the inventive mind of a VA nurse, this product exemplifies our commitment to innovation that improves care quality and saves Veteran lives. Further, we have collaborated with SimLEARN to help spread awareness and availability of the Naloxone Trainer, highlighting the importance of collaboration in modern health care.
This issue will also discuss our commitment to maintain the highest standards of quality through compliance with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Office of Discovery, Education and Affiliate Networks (DEAN) Quality Management System (QMS).
As always, we extend an open invitation to our valued colleagues to join us on this journey of discovery and advancement.
