New Rideshare Program
Need rides to your VA health care appointments? We now offer VHA Uber Health Connect (VUHC) and have updated the recorded message you hear when you call us to ask about transportation services.
VUHC supplements our existing transportation program and reduces wait times. To use the service, you must be ambulatory, eligible for VA travel pay, and have a common carrier beneficiary travel consult from your provider.
Even if you don’t meet the eligibility criteria, give us a call – we might still be able to help you with transportation to VA appointments. We can also help you find out if you are eligible for VA travel pay.
Also keep in mind – if you call our Veterans Transportation Service at 412-360-3620, you will hear a new recorded message that will ask you to:
- Press 1 to schedule a ride. This line answers between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Press 3 to talk to someone about VA travel pay reimbursement. This line answers between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
To help us best serve you, please give us 48 hours’ notice to schedule your ride.

PACT Act Eligibility Expansion
Know a Veteran not yet enrolled in VA health care who was exposed to toxins and other hazards while serving? Tell them they might be eligible to enroll now – VA as of March 5 made millions of Veterans eligible for VA health care years earlier than called for by the PACT Act. Specifically, all Veterans who meet the basic service and discharge requirements and were exposed to toxins and other hazards while serving our country – at home or abroad – will be eligible to enroll directly in VA health care without first applying for VA benefits. Early Alert Monitors Wellness
You can now sign up for Early Alert, a text-messaging service that helps monitor your wellness. Early Alert’s weekly text messages ask about various aspects of your life. If needed based on your responses, it will point you to helpful resources or connect you to a live counselor. It’s free to all Veterans, regardless of enrollment status in VA health care. Quit Tobacco Together
Make quitting tobacco a family affair: we now offer tobacco-cessation counseling through Adagio Health for you, your immediate family and caregivers. Together, you can choose from virtual, telephone and in-person counseling options to quit for good. For details, call 412-360-1720.

- Download the mailable VA Form 10-10EZ. Send the completed 10-10EZ with a copy of your DD214 to VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Attn: Patient Registration, University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15240.
