Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna Bivalent COVID-19 Vaccines Temporarily Suspended

This morning, we stopped administering the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna bivalent COVID-19 vaccines originally authorized in August 2022. This decision is NOT related to any safety concerns. The Food and Drug Administration has revoked the current bivalent vaccines, following a new formulation approval that replaces the current bivalent formulation. Updates will follow once the new vaccines are available. Until that time, there will be a gap in our ability to administer Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines across the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. We will follow up with more details once we have the new vaccines available at our facilities.
