Flu Vaccines available Sept 1st
Veterans Health Administration sent this bulletin at 08/29/2023 05:09 PM EDTDear Veteran,
As we approach the flu season, Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks wants to take a moment to emphasize the importance of getting the flu shot. VHSO and CDC encourages everyone to take this simple step to make a significant difference in safeguarding your health.
The flu, also known as influenza, is a virus that can cause mild to severe symptoms. It spreads easily, especially in crowded places and can lead to serious complications, hospitalization or even death. By receiving the vaccine, you greatly reduce your risk of catching the virus and experiencing its potential complications.
Here are a few key reasons why we strongly encourage you to consider getting the flu shot:
- Protection for yourself: The flu shot helps your immune system develop antibodies to fight off the virus. This reduces your chances of falling ill and minimizes the severity of symptoms if you get infected.
-
Protection for your loved ones: Getting vaccinated not only safeguards your health but also protect those around you.
- Continuity of daily life: Avoiding the flu helps you maintain your daily routines and responsibilities without interruptions caused by illness.
