Erie VA Police | Body and Dash Cams
The mission of VA’s police force is to protect anyone who comes to VA. As a part of that effort, local VA police officers are now wearing body cameras and using in-car cameras at Erie VAMC.
Rest assured, these cameras are not recording all the time. Unless there is a clear and compelling need for a recording, no video will be recorded in locations where a reasonable expectation of personal privacy exists. Your privacy is very important to us, and we will ensure that we remain compliant with HIPPA regulations at all times.
At the Erie VA Medical Center, it’s our job to provide a safe and welcoming environment for you and your families. VA’s great police officers make that possible each and every day. We are grateful for the implementation of this new policy and for their service.
Thank you for embracing this positive change.

Non-fasting Blood Tests at VA
Veterans no longer need to fast for most routine blood tests.
The announcement came from the VA Office of Clinical Services, which highlighted that most routine blood tests, including those for managing high cholesterol and diabetes, no longer require overnight fasting for the results to be accurate.
Please be sure to eat a healthy meal and take regularly prescribed medications prior to coming to the VA for blood testing.
Contact the Erie Primary Care team with questions about blood testing or additional medical procedure requirements at 814-868-8661, press 3.
