New Screening Process

New Screening Procedures Begin Dec. 16

Beginning Dec. 16, 2022, we will no longer have contract screeners stationed at our main entrances.

There will be signage in place to remind all Veterans, visitors, and staff to self-screen. Surgical masks will still be required and will be available in the respiratory stations at each main entrance.

Examples of the instructional signage that will be placed at the main site and CBOCs are provided below.

To assist with wayfinding, general guidance, and increased customer service, we will be hiring permanent Security Assistants to support both the main campus as well as our CBOCs. We hope to fill these positions within the next few months.

Thank you for your assistance as we move forward with this change

National Phone number change

The Department of Veterans Affairs established 1-800-MyVA411 (1-800-698-2411) in 2020 to help veterans, their family members, caregivers, and survivors understand and access the broad spectrum of VA benefits and services.

VA’s previous information number, 1-844-MyVA311, was retired at that time. Since that transition, MyVA311 has been repurposed by a non-federal entity claiming to be a medical equipment provider. Veterans may try to call VA using the MyVA311 number and unintentionally divulge personal information.

Veterans are advised to update their phones, because 1-800-MyVA411 is the appropriate number to call for information about COVID-19 updates, health care eligibility and enrollment, VA benefits, the nearest VA center, as well as debt and payment options.

Pact Act

How the PACT Act is Already Helping

  • The PACT Act has expanded VA health care and benefits for millions of Veterans and their survivors.
  • Since President Biden signed this bill into law on August 10:
    • More than 175,000 Veterans have applied for PACT Act-related benefits;
    • More than 500,000 Veterans have received VA’s new toxic exposure screenings, with nearly 39% reporting a concern of exposure.

We at VA want all eligible Veterans and survivors to get the care and benefits they’ve earned. So don’t wait, get #WhatYouEarned and apply today – or visit VA.gov/PACT  to learn more.
