Women Veteran’s Program Manager Welcome
Greetings! Our fall newsletter has many important topics on benefits and services that we have available to our Women Veterans.
This quarter we have articles on eligibility and enrollment for VA services, as well as articles on services that we provide such as substance use and recovery, contraception care, chronic pain therapies, peers support connections, and whole health programs.
I would also like to draw your attention to our story on the Badger Honor Flight. This past May, we had 88 women participate in the Bader Honor Flight. Learn about their fun adventure!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Cancer screening is helpful in identifying cancer as early as possible. Learn more about breast cancer, the screening guidelines the VA follows, and ways to lower your risk of cancer.
Lastly, I want to highlight the article below on reporting harassment and what our VA is doing to prevent harassment. Harassing behaviors are unacceptable and are not tolerated at the Madison VA. We want to provide an inviting environment for all who served and their loved ones. Harassment can be reported to VA police and/or the facility patient advocates. We want all our women Veterans to feel welcome and hope that you do.
We hope you have a safe and wonderful autumn!
